In short: Digital pre-orders of GTA 6 can now pre-download from November 10, two days earlier than the November 12 date given before. Rockstar puts the download at up to 212 GB; the game still unlocks on November 19.
On November 3, 2026, Rockstar and the PlayStation Blog announced that digital pre-loading for Grand Theft Auto VI now opens on Tuesday, November 10, instead of November 12 as earlier announced. Launch day is unchanged: November 19.
The start works differently per console. On PS5 it opens at midnight in your own local time zone on November 10. On Xbox Series X|S it opens at the same moment worldwide, 12 a.m. GMT on November 10 — that is 7 p.m. ET or 4 p.m. PT on Monday, November 9 for US players.
Rockstar says the download is up to 212 GB depending on your device, so check your free space before pre-loading. Code-in-box copies (the boxed edition has no disc) are still due at retailers from November 12, so boxed buyers can only start after that. An exact unlock time for November 19 has not been published yet.
