GTA 6 wanted system

Preview answer: Edge reports that police build a description from your appearance, clothing, partner, weapon and CCTV sightings. Changing clothes, separating or discarding a weapon can reduce that description. Some stolen cars can transmit their location.

This describes a developer demonstration before release, observed by Edge. We have not played or tested the final game.

What remains untested

Exact timers, tracker frequency, platform differences and reliable step-by-step escape methods remain untested here. A new outfit is not a guaranteed instant escape. We will revise this guide when stronger evidence becomes available.
